1. What we provide
Quidnug validation issues cryptographically-signed attestations of domain control and, at higher tiers, legal entity status. We publish these attestations as TRUST edges on the public Quidnug trust graph. We re-check on a tier-dependent cadence and revoke on failure.
2. What you are responsible for
- Operating the DNS records we need to verify, on domains you actually control.
- Keeping your account credentials and your Quidnug quid private keys secure.
- Paying on time at the stated rate for the subscription tier you selected.
- Complying with applicable laws; we don't validate for clearly illegal activity.
3. What we do not promise
- We do not vouch for anything other than the specific attestations we issue. The Pro-tier badge means "this quid controlled this DNS record at the last successful re-check", not "this party is trustworthy for any purpose".
- We do not promise to reach any specific customer, or to keep any specific DNS provider integration working.
- We do not offer a money-back guarantee outside the stated trial period; prepaid annual plans get prorated refunds if we materially change the service.
4. Uptime and SLA
Per-tier SLAs are listed on the pricing page. A lapsed SLA does not void your signed attestations; they remain cryptographically valid until they expire or are revoked. SLA compensation is service credit at the tier rate.
5. Termination and revocation
- You can cancel at any time. We stop billing immediately; your last-issued attestation remains valid until its renewal window.
- We can revoke an attestation if we discover the underlying DNS control has lapsed, the domain has been transferred, or we have evidence of fraud. We email you first and wait 48 hours except in cases of immediate threat.
- We can terminate your account for abuse (attempting to validate domains you don't control, repeated failed payment, etc.) with written notice.
6. Open source
The protocol and node are Apache 2.0. You can run the entire stack yourself and not use our service at all; we support that. Using our service does not restrict your rights under the open-source license.
7. Liability
Our total liability is capped at one year of fees paid for the affected subscription. We are not liable for downstream consequences of a compromised or incorrectly-issued attestation beyond re-issuance and refund. For high-value use cases, run your own node, hold your own keys, and self-attest as a belt-and-suspenders.
8. Governing law
Jurisdiction and governing law will be specified in the subscription agreement for paid tiers. Disputes on the free tier are handled via informal mutual resolution; we will close the account rather than escalate.
9. Changes
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice by email and a prominent banner on the site. Continued use after the notice period is acceptance. Material changes trigger a refund option for prepaid annual plans.
