Why pay for this instead of running my own attestation?
You can. The protocol is open source and the validation logic is public. You pay us so that your customers see an independent third party vouching for your domain control, instead of only your own signature. Same reason an HTTPS cert issued by Let's Encrypt carries more weight than a self-signed one.
Is the per-domain price really per domain, or per org?
Per domain. If you validate reviews.yourapp.com and oracles.yourapp.com, that is two Pro subscriptions. Bulk pricing kicks in at 10+ domains; contact us.
What counts as one domain?
One fully qualified name that resolves to a zone you control. Wildcards under that name are included (one price covers foo.reviews.yourapp.com and bar.reviews.yourapp.com). A separate apex like oracles.yourapp.com is a separate validation.
Can I try the service without a credit card?
Yes. The free tier is email-verified and works indefinitely on one domain. Upgrade when you need DNS verification, a faster recheck cadence, or the entity-attested badge.
Do I lose my attestation if my subscription lapses?
Yes; we publish a prospective revocation after a 14-day grace period. Re-subscribe at any time and we re-run the validation flow.
Is the attestation useful without your service running?
Every signed edge is verifiable without contacting us; a valid signature from the quidnug root quid is a valid signature whether quidnug.com is up or down. If we go away, your last-published attestation remains cryptographically valid until its expiry or the moment we revoke it.
